This artwork inspired by the warm light and architectural harmony of Mediterranean landscapes – a place where color, rhythm, and memory meet. I wanted to capture a moment of stillness along a sun-drenched road, where light filters through pine trees and casts golden reflections onto ochre walls.
Rather than focusing on realistic detail, I chose to emphasize shape, light, and color. The cypress trees, red rooftops, and yellow facades become graphic elements – not just forms, but expressions of mood and temperature. The lines of the tree trunks bring rhythm and movement, creating a visual dialogue between nature and structure.
The composition is stylized and intentional, influenced by Post-Impressionist and modernist landscape painting, with flat color fields and reduced depth. It reflects my fascination with the essence of place – not to reproduce what I see, but to translate what I feel when immersed in such an environment.
