The Scarlet Ibis Series explores presence, movement, and transformation through the vivid image of these unique birds. In this painting, the ibis is shown in flight, its wings spread in a moment of stillness and energy. The strong contrast of red against pale blue creates a vibrant, almost iconic effect. A small but powerful piece that distills the essence of freedom and grace. At the same time, the bird represents individuality. Its color doesn’t blend into its surroundings, and yet it stands firmly and confidently. This tension between otherness and belonging is a central theme in my work.
